Revolution in LGBTQ+ Representation in Barbados

I’m Martin Boyce. Please vote for my short story ‘Spectre’ by following the link here. Spectre speaks about the impact of COVID on my experience in Barbados as a member of the gender and sexual minority (GSM) community there. A vote for this story is a vote against discrimination based on sexual orientation resulting from Barbados’s buggery law. A vote for me is a yes to unity through visibility and a no to hatred, as entries with the most votes will be published and gain wider readership, helping to advance societal inclusion, fight stigmatisation and improve Barbadian GSM representation by addressing the absence of our voices in literature. I hope through stories like this one to promote empathy, as one role of my writing is to foster understanding through compassion by putting the reader in the mind-space of characters who may be different from themselves. Be the revolutionary you know you are! PLEASE READ, VOTE AND SHARE! Thank you!

UPDATE

Spectre was chosen (along with my other two entries) for publication in a digital anthology. I'll leave the link here when I have it (if I remember). #RedRamRealness #MartinBoyceBarbados
